Project Overview
Client: Suicide Prevention Team
Objective: Transform the organization’s existing 2D logo artwork into a fully realized 3D model, suitable for high-quality 3D printing. The resulting three-dimensional representation of the logo will serve as the basis for custom pins and display pieces, reinforcing the brand’s identity and supporting awareness initiatives.
Scope of Work
Vector to 3D Conversion:
Began with the original 2D logo in Adobe Illustrator, refining shapes, proportions, and contours to ensure compatibility with 3D modeling workflows.
Imported vector paths into Foundry Modo to create a detailed 3D mesh, accurately translating the logo’s design elements into a three-dimensional form and hand sculpted elements and details.
3D Modeling and Preparations for Manufacturing:
Applied professional modeling techniques to ensure the final geometry was optimized for 3D printing—maintaining structural integrity and smooth surfaces for both pins and larger display units.
Prepared the model for laser sintering, a manufacturing process chosen to produce stainless steel components that offer durability, a refined finish and long-lasting quality.
Outcome
The final 3D model allows the Suicide Prevention Team to enhance their visual presence through tangible, high-quality branded items. These custom pins and display artworks serve not only as marketing tools, but also as meaningful symbols of the organization’s mission and commitment to the community.
